Why your website gets no leads diagnosed in order.

Three completely different problems produce the same symptom. Establish which one you have before spending money on any of them.

Overview

Check these in order

No enquiries has three possible causes: nobody is visiting, the wrong people are visiting, or visitors cannot or will not enquire. Check them in that order. The third is the most common and the cheapest to fix, and a silently broken form is more frequent than anyone expects.

01

Is the form actually working?

Submit it yourself from a phone on mobile data. Check the inbox and the spam folder. Silently failing forms are the single most common cause of no enquiries and can run for months unnoticed. Fix this before anything else.

02

Are you getting any traffic?

Open analytics. If sessions are near zero, this is a visibility problem, not a conversion one, and no amount of design work will fix it. If traffic exists, keep going down this list.

03

Is it the right traffic?

Traffic from the wrong places or for the wrong terms will not convert regardless. Check which pages and queries bring people. Ranking for informational terms while selling a service is a common mismatch.

04

Can visitors tell what you do?

Open your homepage as a stranger. In five seconds, can you say what is sold and to whom? Sites leading with brand language rather than the offer lose people before the form matters.

05

Is enquiring easy enough?

Tappable phone number, WhatsApp, a short form. In this market a long form as the only route loses most people. Count your form fields and remove anything you will not use.

06

Is there a reason to act?

No prices, no proof, no clear next step. Visitors who cannot judge whether you are in their range or whether you are credible simply leave without contacting anyone.

What to avoid

Matching symptom to cause

SymptomLikely cause
Traffic normal, enquiries suddenly stoppedBroken form or mail delivery
Almost no traffic at allNot indexed, or no pages for your services
Traffic but high bounceWrong traffic, or the offer is unclear
Visitors reach contact page and leaveForm too long, or no phone and WhatsApp
Enquiries arrive but never convertWrong audience, or no price filtering
Ranking well, still no enquiriesRanking for informational rather than buying terms

Each row points somewhere different. Spending on design when the problem is a broken form is the most expensive mistake on this list.

FAQ

Common questions

My website gets no enquiries. What should I check first?

The form. Submit it yourself from a phone on mobile data and confirm the email arrives, including the spam folder. Silently failing forms run for months unnoticed and are the single most common cause.

How do I know if it is a traffic problem or a conversion problem?

Open analytics. If sessions are near zero it is visibility, and redesigning will not help. If traffic exists and nobody enquires, it is conversion, and the form, the offer clarity and the enquiry routes are where to look.

Why does my site rank but produce no enquiries?

Usually because you rank for informational terms rather than buying terms. Someone reading a how-to article is not ready to hire. You need pages targeting the terms people use when they are ready to pay.

How many form fields should we have?

As few as let you respond usefully. Name and phone is often enough in this market, plus one qualifying question. Every extra field costs completions, so each has to earn its place.

Should we add WhatsApp?

In this market, almost always. A large share of buyers will not fill in a form but will message. Adding a tap-to-chat button alongside the form usually raises total enquiries noticeably.

How long should I wait before concluding the site does not work?

If traffic exists and enquiries do not, that is diagnosable now rather than in six months. If traffic itself is the problem, allow three to six months of genuine SEO work before judging, and watch impressions, which move first.
